In memoriam.Former Silicon Valley/San Jose Chapter President Allen B. Williams, CPA (Computer Press Association, Landing, NJ) An earlier membership organization founded in 1983 that promoted excellence in computer journalism. Its annual awards honored outstanding examples in print, broadcast and electronic media. The CPA disbanded in 2000. died June 16. He was 79. When Wood, Nye and Company was acquired by Hurdman, Cranston and Penny in 1975, Williams left to open his own firm, continuing his practice until 2002, when he suffered a stroke. In addition to his term as chapter president in 1981-82, Williams was active in CalCPA's Litigation An action brought in court to enforce a particular right.
