In memoriam: Thomas B. Rumpke.


Thomas Rumpke, co-CEO and co-president of Rumpke Consolidated Cos. Inc., Cincinnati, died in January at the age of 63. He is survived by his wife Mary, his daughter Melissa Krieger, sons Todd Rumpke, Mark Rumpke, Matthew Rumpke and 13 grandchildren GRANDCHILDREN, domestic relations. The children of one's children. Sometimes these may claim bequests given in a will to children, though in general they can make no such claim. 6 Co. 16. .

Since his teens, Tom worked for the family's waste and recycling business, which was started by his father and uncle in 1932. He worked closely alongside his cousin Bill Rumpke since they began a residential route collection partnership in 1956.

Tom was commended by colleagues for his friendly, open door policy toward all of Rumpke's 1,800 employees.

Memorials may be made in the form of financial contributions to the Thomas B. Rumpke Memorial Fund. Money from the fund will be donated to the families of two Rumpke service vehicle drivers who were involved in accidents. Driver Steven Finch was fatally injured in·jure
