Fastenal, seller of industrial and construction supplies, said Q2 EPS rose 18% to 40 cents a share, a penny over views. Sales grew 13% to $519.7 mil. It leapt 10% to 46.42.

3M MMM, a diversified manufacturer, said it agreed to buy passport-reader maker Rochford Thompson Equipment. 3M rose 2.3% to 89.93.

Top Tankers TOPT said it agreed to buy its first 3 dry bulk vessels for $149 mil. It said the purchase will reduce dependence on other tanker companies. It rose 1.4% to 8.10.

Fleetwood FLE, a maker of RVs and manufactured homes, swung to a Q4 earnings loss of 28 cents a share ex items, down from a 4-cent gain last year but 3 cents better than expected. Revenue fell 16% to $508.4 mil. Shares were flat at 9.80.
