Special events are held by the club on Friday evenings when the teenagers are taken out for a health-related activity such as ice-skating, swimming or bowling. The youth club also takes youngsters on residential trips on the weekend. The club is aiming to benefit the activity side of its programme by taking part in the Evening Gazette's Wish campaign. But it is the youth club members themselves who will ultimately decide where any money raised is spent. The youngsters are gearing up for the task of collecting the tokens and plan to make posters to encourage people in the community to help.
