Improved Web application development. The new version of CACHE 2007 post-relational database from InterSystems Corporation now includes InterSystems Zen for quickly building rich platform-independent Web applications, and Jalapeno for the elimination of object relational mapping for Java programmers. Zen's library of prebuilt components allows fast creation and management of complex processes, as well as an AJAX technology extension for RIA development and an advanced embedded security model. Prebuilt components can be extended or new in-house code developed with its object-based extensibility. A shared object client/server data model improves developer productivity by eliminating the parsing of XML, with the application's close database integration performance and scalability deployment going beyond traditional AJAX environments. CACHE's Jalapeno allows persist capability of plain old Java objects while eliminating object relational mapping. Java developers can build database-independent applications while taking advantage of direct database access to CACHE without the overhead associated with SQL.
