Imprint Records and Columbia House Record Club announce licensing agreement.


NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 15, 1997--Under the terms of a licensing agreement announced today, the 15 million members of the Columbia House Columbia House operates a music and DVD club, and as such is a direct seller of DVD movies and box sets, offering its selections through “club membership” agreements.  Record Club will now have access to the catalog of Imprint Records For the underground hip-hop record label, see .

Imprint Records was an American country music record label established in 1994 as Veritas Music Entertainment, Inc. The label has been defunct since 1997.

Columbia House is the largest mail order record club in North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere. .

"This is an important avenue for the distribution for our product," said Wayne Halper, Imprint's chief financial officer and vice president of business affairs.

"Columbia House reaches its consumers through advertisements placed in major national consumer magazines such as `TV Guide,' `Rolling Stone' and `Video Review.' Not only will these advertisements build our sales through member purchases, they will also serve to increase the exposure and sale of Imprint's repertoire at traditional retail stores."

Imprint Records, launched in July 1995 by former Sony Nashville President Roy Wunsch and former High Five Entertainment President Bud Schaetzle, is a country music record label whose mission is to seek out unique artists, particularly singer/songwriters, who are judged to have the ability to make enduring contributions to popular culture.

In 1996, Imprint released albums by award-winning singer/songwriter Gretchen Peters, Canadian Male Vocalist of the Year Charlie Major and noted songwriter/guitarist Al Anderson. Last month, the label released Bob Woodruff's sophomore collection, "Desire Road," and more releases are planned in 1997.

Imprint's shares trade on the Nasdaq SmallCap Market under the symbol IMPR IMPR Impractical . Its warrants trade under the symbol IMPRW.
