Implementation guidance for private investment companies (non-registered) to be developed shortly. (accounting & auditing news).

 has created a task force to develop guidance related to the implementation by private investment companies of certain provisions of the AICPA Audit and Accounting Guide Audits of Investment Companies. The guidance will relate primarily to the method of disclosing financial statement highlights by non-registered investment companies.

To the extent that such guidance is developed, it would be issued in the form of a Technical Practice Aid this month or by Jan. 4, 2002, at the latest. The guidance will be available on the AICPA Web site at:
