Immigrant heritage honored ...

Ryan Nabors, a life member or Chapter 41 In Olympia, Wash., right, and Army Chief of Staff General Raymond Odierno, center, received Ellis Island Medals of Honor in a special ceremony at Ellis Island, N. Y. Each year, the National Ethnic Coalition of Organizations presents medals to U.S. citizens from various ethnic backgrounds. The medals, designed to pay homage to the immigrant experience, as well as individual achievement, are awarded to remarkable Americans who exemplify outstanding qualities in both their personal and professional lives, while continuing to preserve the richness of their particular heritage. Each year's recipients are read into the Congressional Record.
