Imagenetix Commences China Sales of New Patented Weight Loss Product.

SAN DIEGO -- Imagenetix Inc. (OTCBB:IAGX) today announced it has introduced its weight loss compound, Lepitrim(TM), to the Peoples Republic of China.

The initial order, of five thousand units, will reach market within approximately 45 days, said Imagenetix. Beijing Yinsheng Pharmaceutics (BYP), a major distributor of health-related goods in China, will distribute the product.

Pending approval from the Ministry of Health, which is expected imminently, Lepitrim(TM) will commence general sale throughout China.

Lepitrim(TM) is a natural polysaccharide compound that has been found in studies to safely reduce stored fat by lowering the body's levels of leptin, a circulating hormone that regulates fat storage. Imagenetix holds an exclusive license for Lepitrim(TM) from the University of Minnesota, which owns the patent on the compound.

Obesity is the fastest growing health problem in China. Currently, seven percent of Chinese adults -- 90 million people -- are obese, nearly double the figure of 1992. In addition, some 200 million Chinese people are now overweight, about 40 percent more, proportional to total population, compared to 1992. The epidemic is particularly severe in larger cities such as Beijing, where six out of ten adults are either obese or overweight.

Children in China are also suffering from increased obesity, which now afflicts some ten percent of those under 16 years of age and is increasing by eight percent per year.

According to BYP president Fu Chunchang, Lepitrim(TM) is expected to play "a key role" in the Chinese government's plan to ameliorate that nation's overweight and obesity problems. "We know of no other weight loss supplement with such impressive scientific results and safety," said Mr. Fu. "We are confident this product will achieve rapid sales growth in the near future."

BYP employs a force of more than 100 experienced salespersons who market to more than 10,000 distributors across China and also maintain close relationships with top Chinese governing authorities. The company maintains a 600,000 square foot manufacturing and research center, located near Beijing, as well as a sales and marketing office in Beijing proper. Since its inception, BYP has received significant support from the China FDA, China Ministry of Science and High Technology as well as from other major Chinese government agencies.
