Self-contained and usually independently operating: a standalone computer terminal. 
 plan to cover loss of independent living. The product pays a lump-sum benefit of up to $500,000 upon initial diagnosis of any of 12 covered conditions, including cancer, stroke and heart attack. Term plans range from 10 to 30 years. The product provides return of premium on death less any benefits paid.
