(NASDAQ:MSPD), a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions for network infrastructure applications, today announced that Ikegami Electronics, one of the world's leading manufacturers of high-quality professional broadcast equipment, is shipping its HSS-3000 and 300 series multi format production switchers utilizing Mindspeed's high definition/standard definition (HD/SD) broadcast video co-axial cable driver and multi-rate automatic reclocker devices.

Ikegami's multi format HSS-3000 HDTV/SDTV large production and HSS-300 compact production switchers are designed for high-end broadcast applications. Both production switchers support multiple HD and SD formats and offer 1M/E with 8x8 input/output to 4M/E with 96x64 input/output configurations to meet various system requirements.

Mindspeed's M21212 HD/SD broadcast video co-axial cable driver is a next-generation, high-performance analog solution that is pin-to-pin, electrically, and functionally compatible with existing legacy single-channel cable drivers. The M21212 provides enhanced performance such as improved differential input sensitivity (100mVpp to 2000mVpp), typical device output return loss of 20dB for easier board development and increased margin while reducing power consumption.

The M21215 HD/SD single-channel video reclocker is the industry's lowest power clock and data recovery (CDR) reclocker. It is designed to remove both random and inter-symbol interference (ISI) jitter from the retimed data. It also provides a retimed datastream compliant with the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) and DVB-ASI serial video digital data input. A selectable reduced output swing mode helps to further reduce power dissipation to as little as one-quarter to one-third that of legacy devices.
