Iiyama LCD display ProLite C480T.Now, your Iiyama ProLite C480T is basically a 19-inch SXGA (Super XGA) A screen resolution of 1280x1024 pixels. SXGA is commonly used on standard monitors, but provides a 1.25:1 aspect ratio, compared to the more common 1.33:1 (4:3) ratio. SXGA+ has a 1400x1050 resolution, which is an exact 1.33:1 ratio. See PC display modes. LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) A display technology that uses rod-shaped molecules (liquid crystals) that flow like liquid and bend light. Unenergized, the crystals direct light through two polarizing filters, allowing a natural background color to show. display with a built-in TV tuner An electronic part of a radio or TV that locks on to a selected carrier frequency (station, channel) and filters out the audio and video signals for amplification and display. . We've certainly seen a few of those recently. But Iiyama is a very well respected PC peripheral manufacturer, and this product could very well turn out to be a heavy hitter heavy hitter n. One that is predominant, as in influence or power: "Especially when a candidate is a challenger, appearances with heavy hitters from the party lend an air of credibility" . With a 1,280 x 1,024-dot display, 170-degree viewing angle, 600:1 contrast ratio and brightness of 430 cd/m2, the C480T is certainly no lightweight on the tech-specs scales. The response time is nice and fast at 25 ms and there are twin 5W speakers positioned either side of the screen. Sockets for input sources include one for a TV antenna, a D4, S-video, composite and DVI-I--so that's pretty much all the input bases covered. The display looks the business mad is at least as lovely looking as Sharp's very popular Aquos series (better looking, for my money), and you have the bonus of the high definition SXGA display thrown in. Iiyama has pictures of it hanging on a wall, much like the more expensive plasma displays Also called "gas discharge display," a flat-screen technology that uses tiny cells lined with phosphor that are full of inert ionized gas (typically a mix of xenon and neon).
