Identix Receives Purchase Order Valued at Approximately $650,000 from Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association.

MINNETONKA, Minn. -- PCPA Places New Order Under Previously Announced Statewide Blanket Purchase Agreement with Identix to Upgrade to Latest Full Hand Live Scan Systems

Identix Incorporated (Nasdaq:IDNX), the world's leading multi-biometrics security technology company, announced that it has received a new purchase order from the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association (PCPA) for Identix'(R) TouchPrint(TM) 3800 Full-Hand Live Scan Systems. These systems are for deployment to select law enforcement agencies across the state to replace the agencies' legacy live scan systems with the latest in Identix' technology. The purchase order, which is valued at approximately $650,000, was placed by PCPA under the previously announced statewide Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) awarded to Identix in December 2003. The BPA initially had a one-year term, with two additional one-year options that may be exercised by mutual agreement of Identix and PCPA. In September 2004, PCPA and Identix agreed to exercise the first year option, extending the BPA through August 2005.

The live scan systems under the purchase order announced today are expected to ship and be installed over the course of the Company's fiscal 2005 second and third quarters ending December 31, 2004, and March 31, 2005, respectively. Including this order, PCPA has placed orders under the BPA with an aggregate value of approximately $1,700,000 for Identix' line of live scan systems. The order announced today is in addition to the $1,800,000+ order from the Pennsylvania State Police announced by Identix last month to assist the State in meeting the TSA deadline for fingerprint biometric background checks on HAZMAT drivers and applicants statewide.
