SAN FRANCISCO San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden  -- Identity Engines, a leading provider of network-based identity management solutions, today announced that they will showcase Ignition Server[TM] v3.2 in Oracle's Secured Enterprise Pavilion demonstration at Oracle OpenWorld Oracle OpenWorld is an annual Oracle event for business decision-makers, IT management, and line of business end users. It is held in major cities around the world. The 2007 event was held in Sao Paulo, Brazil.  2006. The Identity Engines network access control product integrates with the Oracle Identity and Access Management Suite to deliver a solution that predictably and precisely applies access control policies across both network and application environments.

By unifying access management across the network and application layer, Oracle Identity Management (OIM See Meta Data Coalition. ) customers have an enhanced practical solution to enrich their application access controls with network layer policies including firewall relative location, connection type (wired or wireless), and device to ID association. A typical application of this solution would be to prohibit a bank teller with intranet access from ever accessing the internet, eliminating the opportunity for unauthorized forwarding of customer sensitive information outside of the bank or financial institution.

"Together with Oracle we have redefined what is possible and practical for network and application access," said Identity Engines CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  Pete Selda. "Providing a comprehensive view over both network and application permissions allows greater visibility and control allowing support for access decisions that require information from layer 2 to layer 7."

Key Ignition features will be highlighted that show how network policies can be used along with application level access control to support new aggregated scenarios as follows:

* Managing organizational roles, application roles, and network access from a common console and business process workflows.

* Including device-to-identity, network location, and network access connection type prior to granting access to an application.

* Network level segmented access based on user identity, group membership, or role.
