The service is supported by advertising which appears on a special version of the user's browser and cannot be eliminated. NetZero (www.netzero.  provider NetZero Inc., Pasadena-based Idealab was celebrated as a darling of the New Economy.

But as investors lost faith in money-losing Internet startups, including those spawned by Idealab, the 5-year-old incubator incubator, apparatus for the maintenance of controlled conditions in which eggs can be hatched artificially.
