Icon Medialab appoints Else-Marie Ostling Global Chief Technology Officer.

 office, where she was instrumental in developing successful e-strategy solutions for clients and building the company's next generation of e-commerce applications. Additionally, Ostling more than tripled the size of the New York technology group in less than half a year.

As CTO, Ostling, 42, will be responsible for defining Icon Medialab's technology strategy worldwide. In that role, she will direct the company's investments in technology hiring, training and internal "expert status" certification; identify strategic opportunities in the marketplace and establish partnership programs; and develop advanced service offerings and solutions. At the same time, Ostling will remain involved in key client assignments while participating as a member of Icon Medialab's global management team. She will continue to work from the New York office.

Ostling came to Icon Medialab from BIRKA Group, Incorporated, where, as President and CTO, she provided mentoring and knowledge transfer of UML (Unified Modeling Language) An object-oriented analysis and design language from the Object Management Group (OMG). Many design methodologies for describing object-oriented systems were developed in the late 1980s. , object modeling, architecture and application development. Prior to starting BIRKA Group, Ostling was the Vice President of Customer Services at Riverton Software Corporation (now known as Riverton Corporation).

Ostling has deep experience in the development and implementation of Unified Modeling Language See UML.
