:SYXI), announces the expansion of its power management ICs with the introduction of its new "50X" family of high performance Gate Driver Integrated Circuits Integrated circuits

Miniature electronic circuits produced within and upon a single semiconductor crystal, usually silicon. Integrated circuits range in complexity from simple logic circuits and amplifiers, about 1/20 in. (1.
. With current ratings from 2A (IXDx502) to 14A (IXDx514), this new family of drivers substantially improves the cost effectiveness, circuit density and ruggedness of gate drivers needed by power electronic circuits to switch Power MOSFETs and IGBTs. The value of this family is further enhanced by the addition of a new high density package option covering the full range of drive currents, the 6-Lead DFN DFN Definition

IXYS has a long history of producing rugged power MOSFETs and IGBTs, which has been extended to its driver ICs. Power supplies and motor control circuits demand highly reliable and robust driver ICs to withstand the voltage and current spikes that often occur in power systems. By using proprietary process and design innovation, these driver ICs achieve a high resistance to latchup with a high degree of noise immunity. Other electrical advantages shared with IXYS Gate Drive products include drive stage design features that eliminate internal cross conduction conduction, transfer of heat or electricity through a substance, resulting from a difference in temperature between different parts of the substance, in the case of heat, or from a difference in electric potential, in the case of electricity. , an extended operating voltage range of up to 35V and an operating temperature range of -55 degrees C to +125 degrees C.

IXYS continues to provide a broad range of versatility in its product line in this new 50X Low Side Driver family. This family is offered with a full range of logic level control and package options. Versions incorporating an Enable function for fast output shutdown are also offered. Package options include 8-Pin DIP, 8-Pin SOIC and the high density 6-Lead DFN. The introduced drivers include the IXDD502D1, a 2A dual output gate driver in the 6-Lead DFN, or the IXDD514D1, a powerful 14A single output gate driver in the same 6-Lead DFN. Each gate driver exhibits output rise and falls times under 25 nanoseconds with matched output rise times.

Various applications stand to benefit from this new family of Low Side Drivers. Examples include consumer electronics such as LCD TVs and audio amplifiers, industrial applications such as welding and motor drives and other power conversion applications such as solar inverters, uninterruptible power supplies See UPS.

and switch-mode power supplies. Additionally, these drivers can be used to directly drive relays, solenoids and other actuators. More information on these ICs can be found on the website www.ixys.com.
