IXYS Introduces A Powerful Driver IC For RF and Power Pulse Applications.SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- IXYS Corporation (NASDAQ NASDAQ in full National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations U.S. market for over-the-counter securities. Established in 1971 by the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), NASDAQ is an automated quotation system that reports on :IXYS) announced that its subsidiary, Directed Energy, Inc. (DEI), has introduced the DEIC DEIC Dutch East India Company DEIC Delegacia Estadual de Investigações Criminais (Brazil) 515 driver IC. The DEIC515 is a robust Power MOSFET driver IC, for applications that require high current outputs and fast switching speeds, which has been tested in high power RF applications. The DEIC515 has been designed with very low propagation delays (about half of standard drivers), repeatable threshold levels, fast switching and high drive current. The propagation delay (~17ns) is reduced by eliminating the level translator in the input circuit. This also allows for repeatable threshold levels. Problems associated with very high currents at high switching speeds are eliminated by using Kelvin connection to the input sections. The output section can supply peak currents up to 15A and switching speeds of less than 3 nanoseconds (ns). Operation can be useful up to 30 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc. when driving a MOSFET (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor) The most popular and widely used type of field effect transistor (see FET). MOSFETs are either NMOS (n-channel) or PMOS (p-channel) transistors, which are fabricated as individually packaged with Ciss of 1000 pF. When used as a pulse device, pulse widths as small as 6 ns can be generated. The driver has applications in the RF and power electronics industries. Class D and E Switching RF Amplifiers, Multi-megahertz DC to DC Converters and Switch-Mode Power Supplies, Pulse Transformer Drivers, Pulse Generators, Pulsed Laser Diode Drivers and Acoustic Transducer transducer, device that accepts an input of energy in one form and produces an output of energy in some other form, with a known, fixed relationship between the input and output. Drivers are a few of the applications well suited to the DEIC515. The DEIC515 is available through IXYS authorized sales representative, or from IXYS RF, www.IXYSRF.com, Tel.
