IWF announces 22 Challengers Award finalists.


ATLANTA, GA -- Twenty-two products have been selected as finalists in the internationally recognized Challengers Distinguished Achievement Award competition, the most ever in the history of the program sponsored by the International Woodworking Machinery & Furniture Supply Fair-USA.

A total of 74 companies submitted 96 entries to compete for the coveted cov·et

 award. The Challengers Award recognizes advancements in technology or significant contributions to environmental improvement. Among these finalists, seven outstanding winners will be selected by a panel of 10 judges during the Last round of judging, which takes place on Aug. 22, one day before the opening of IWF 2006. These seven winning products each will receive a Challengers Award during a special awards ceremony scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23, in the auditorium of Building C of the Georgia World Congress Center The Georgia World Congress Center or GWCC is the major convention center in Atlanta. It is the fourth-largest convention center in the United States at 1.4 million ft2 (130,000 m2) and hosts more than a million visitors each year. .
