IVANS launches Quick Start Remote Access. (Technology: Technology Notes).

IVANS Inc. recently launched its Quick Start Remote Access Program that provides carriers the ability to give employees access to corporate resources in a short amount of time if their primary network fails, or employees are forced to work from home.

IVANS, based in Old Greenwich, Conn., provides technology solutions for the insurance industry.

The program provides companies with dial-up abilities for access to applications through the Internet, virtual private networks or IVANS' secure network.

"Part of any sound contingency plan is having a remote access strategy in place that enables a carriers' employees to work remotely in a moment's notice," said Thad Bauer, IVANS director of networking services.

The Quick Start Remote Access Program requires that a company either be a pre-existing IVANS member or become an IVANS member using its networking services. Members will then have instant access to 100 user identifications, which are held in an IVANS account to be issued and activated within hours of notice. If a member requires additional user IDs, a Quick Start implementation plan can be developed to ensure quick activation when needed. IDs may be deployed in the event of a primary network failure or main egress lines are knocked out, with employees having to work remotely to access applications.

IVANS' implementation team will work with members to deploy the IDs and to customize the access for the individual needs of each member.
