IURC Concludes Review of RWE Acquisition of American Water; Commission Approves Amended Agreement Aimed at Safeguarding the Public's Interest.

Although the IURC does not have regulatory approval powers over the transaction, it did initiate an investigation earlier this year to determine its effect on Indiana customers and the quality of service of Indiana-American Water Company, Inc.

The transaction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2003 once all the necessary regulatory approvals have been received.
