ITXC and Bell Atlantic Show 'Proof of Concept' Wholesale IP Telephony Origination Demo at TRA.

ITXC Corp(R) (NASDAQ: ITXC) and Bell Atlantic (NYSE: BEL) will be demonstrating how a wholesale Internet phone call origination service might work.

This demonstration will take place at TRA's 2000 Spring Conference and Exhibition in Philadelphia, PA, on May 9-10, 2000. The companies described the demo as a "proof of concept" and said that a decision on whether and when to launch the service would depend on a number of factors including interest shown at the show.

In the demonstration, callers will use an ordinary phone to dial a Bell Atlantic supplied 950-xxxx number to access the Bell Atlantic platform. After dialing, callers will be prompted to supply a PIN authorization and a phone number to be called.

The calls will go from a Bell Atlantic switch to an Internet telephony gateway operated by Bell Atlantic, then onto the Internet over ITXC.net(TM), the world's largest Internet telephony network, and will be terminated by ITXC affiliates around the world.

If offered, this service would be targeted at companies that sell prepaid calling cards to consumers. Users of the cards would be able to get the benefit of Bell Atlantic call origination and low Internet telephony rates available from ITXC as well as ITXC's BestValue Routing(TM), which assures call quality even when calls are carried over the public Internet.
