ITU redelegates UAE 971 numbering system.

Abu Dhabi:AaThe UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Bahrain (TRA) was established by Legislative Decree No. 48 promulgating the Telecommunications Law. The TRA is an independent body and its duties and powers include, among other things, protecting the interests of subscribers and users  (TRA) announced on Thursday that the International Telecommunication Union International Telecommunication Union (ITU), specialized agency of the United Nations, with headquarters at Geneva. It was created in 1934 as a result of the merging of the International Telegraph Union (est.  (ITU) has re-delegated the UAE ENUM space (971) to the TRA.

The Authority is committed to transparency and continuous development that serves the ICT sector in the UAE.

In this respect, Mohammad Al Ganem, TRA Director General, commented: "The .ae Domain Administration (.aeDA) has proven to possess an excellent capability to manage the .ae country code top level domain from both administrative and technical perspectives in compliance with International best practices, hence, accordingly, the TRA delegated .aeDA to operate the ENUM (971) internet zone for the UAE."

The UAE is allocated the country code (1.7.9.e164.arpa) to represent UAE telephone code (971).

Clients have the choice to register .ae domain name with accredited registrars.
