 in Southwest Asia Southwest Asia or Southwestern Asia (largely overlapping with the Middle East) is the southwestern portion of Asia. The term Western Asia is sometimes used in writings about the archeology and the late prehistory of the region, and in the United States subregion . The Total Army Communications -- Southwest Asia (TAC-SWA) contract has a five-year value of up to $121 million. Under the contract, ITT will provide all communications support to the Army's 54th Signal Battalion. The Batallion's peacetime mission is to install, operate, maintain, and protect strategic base and tactical Command The authority delegated to a commander to assign tasks to forces under his command for the accomplishment of the mission assigned by higher authority. , Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence systems in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar. The work will be performed by ITT Industries' Systems Division.
