ITT INDUSTRIES WINS COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT CONTRACT FOR U.S. MILITARY IN SOUTHWEST ASIA.

ITT Industries, Inc. (NYSE: ITT) has been awarded a contract to provide communications support to U.S. military operations in Southwest Asia. The Total Army Communications -- Southwest Asia (TAC-SWA) contract has a five-year value of up to $121 million. Under the contract, ITT will provide all communications support to the Army's 54th Signal Battalion. The Batallion's peacetime mission is to install, operate, maintain, and protect strategic base and tactical Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence systems in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar. The work will be performed by ITT Industries' Systems Division.
