Asia 2001. This international tire exhibition and conference will take place in Busan, South Korea from September 18-20.

The conference on "Smarter tires for intelligent vehicles" will open with a welcoming address from B.J. Kang, the joint president of Heunga Tires and chairman of Nexen Tire Nexen Tire is a tire manufacturer, headquartered in Yangsan, South Gyeongsang Province, and Seoul, both in South Korea. Its major domestic competitors are Hankook Tire and Kumho Tires. The company's name is reflected in the company slogan, "Next Century Tire. .

Subsequent papers from Hyung-In Shin, the chairman of the Korean Tire Manufacturers Association and president of Kumho Industrial, and Pong (games) Pong - A computer game invented in 1972 by Atari's Nolan Bushnell. The game is a minimalist rendering of table tennis. Each of the two players are represented as a white slab, controllable by a knob, which deflects a bouncing ball.  Kee Paik, former chairman of the Korean Rubber Institute, will provide up-to-the-minute analyses of the Asian tire industry.

Regional industry executives and academics will deliver over half of the programmed papers, translated simultaneously into Korean and Japanese. The technical program is dedicated to advances in materials, tire technology, modeling and vertical engineering, etc.

Papers will include discussions on the link between road transport systems and tire design from Dr. Chul Soo Choi, director of Hyundai, and T. Inoue, engiineering director of Nippon Hodo.

K.J. Lang, vice chairman of ITS-Korea, will outline achievements in global satellite positioning, and An-Gi Lee of Kiswire will focus on steel cord innovations.

Heitarou Doi, general manager of the Japan Research Institute's Engineering Department, will explain rotating tire modeling alongside pioneering work on new frictional energy and cornering force models from Sogang University History
Sogang started as a college in February 1960, Fr. Kenneth E. Killoren, S.J. being its first President. Sogang College opened its doors on April 1960 with six departments : Economics, English Language and Literature, History, Mathematics, Philosophy and Physics.
