ITALY CLAIMS A PIECE OF THE XYZ PIE.
Italy has jumped on the global credential bandwagon as the first
European country to join the AICPA's Global Credential Steering
Committee.
Italy's two leading accountancy bodies, the Consiglio
Nazionale dei Dottori Commercialisti and the Consiglio Nazionale dei
Ragionieri e Periti Commerciali, have joined the initiative.
The two Italian accounting organizations represent more than 90,000
accountants.
The Italians will join key accountancy bodies from Australia,
Canada and New Zealand, as well as the AICPA, who are already members of
the committee.
Institutes of chartered accountants in Ireland and the United
Kingdom dropped out of the global credential project late last year.
