ITA Software Picks Eight Finalists for Boston's IT Battle of the Bands; Tech Community Will Compete on June 26 at Middle East.


CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- ITA Software ITA Software, Inc. is a travel industry software company in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The company was founded by computer scientists from the MIT Artificial Intelligence Laboratory in 1996.

ITA's first product was an airfare search and pricing system called "QPX".
, a fast-growing technology company founded by computer scientists from MIT MIT - Massachusetts Institute of Technology , today announced its line-up of eight bands for Boston's First IT Band Bash. Taking place on Monday, June 26 at 8 p.m. at the Middle East Downstairs at 472/480 Massachusetts Avenue Massachusetts Avenue may refer to:
  • Massachusetts Avenue (Boston), Massachusetts, also:
  • Massachusetts Avenue (MBTA Orange Line station), a subway station on the MBTA Orange Line
 in Cambridge, this Battle of the Bands will bring together a wide range of musicians with ties to the technology community for a night filled with good music and a great competition.

After receiving more than 60 band entries, ITA Software narrowed down the finalists to the following bands who will compete:

--Three Day Threshold

--Francis Kim Band

--My Flash On You

--Nicole Russo

--Colin Green Band

--Lizzie Borden Band

--Hepburn

--Joe Turner and the Seven Levels

 Software's own Wendi Faren, South 16 and Kalaallit Nunaat. Additionally, DJ Adam 12 and the WBCN street team will be in attendance, giving away prizes throughout the night.

 20 minutes to each band. Winners will be selected by a panel of distinguished judges: Dave Wildman, arts editor of Weekly Dig, music writer glenn mcdonald, music promoter Ralph Jaccodine and Russell Ferrante, Grammy-winning member of the jazz group Yellowjackets.

Prizes include gift certificates to Daddy's Junky Music and recording sessions and other services from JamSpot.
