IT Resource Center gets new name.The IT Resource Center in Chicago, which has taken on the programming of the Nonprofit A corporation or an association that conducts business for the benefit of the general public without shareholders and without a profit motive. Nonprofits are also called not-for-profit corporations. Nonprofit corporations are created according to state law. Financial Center there, has a new name. It is now being called Lumity. The origins of the name Lumity lie in two concepts that, officials said, capture a new spirit--illumination and community. Lumity is one organization that enables hundreds to help thousands," he said. The name change was announced at the former IT Resource Center's annual gala. The organization also presented its annual Technology Leadership Award, sponsored by Accenture, to America's Second Harvest America's Second Harvest is a United States based nonprofit organization. It consists of a nation-wide network of more than 200 food banks and food-rescue organizations that serve virtually every county in the United States as well as Puerto Rico. . The group will receive a $7,500 grant from Accenture; a one-year Lumity membership, including $3,000 worth of services; and a donation of Microsoft software. Runner-up for the award was the Hadley School for the Blind Hadley School for the Blind is a world famous learning institution in Winnetka, Illinois. It was founded by William A. Hadley in 1920.
