IT OnTime, Inc. Releases Version 2.0 of The Request Management System.CALABASAS, Calif. -- IT OnTime, Inc. announced today that it is releasing the newest version of the Request Management System(TM) (rms (1) (Record Management Services) A file management system used in VAXs. (2) (Root Mean Square) A method used to measure electrical output in volts and watts.(TM)) at IT SMF in Long Beach, CA September 27, 2004. The latest version reflects over two years of real-world usage experience with rms. According to IT OnTime, rms lets users define and manage just about any type of work request for fulfillment by insourced or outsourced resources. The company developed rms in response to a long-standing need for a simple and inexpensive system to eliminate end users' frustration with black box, over the wall request processes that lack status reporting. rms is currently used for requests for Web sites and software applications. It is also used for managing request for graphic arts and marketing materials projects. Max Rosenblatt, President and CEO of IT OnTime, commented, "We see rms as an essential tool in IT departments, consultants and contractors. It improves control over the request process by providing a discipline for all users. Since end-user generated requests account for over 55% of software spending, IT departments should be interested." Mr. Rosenblatt further added, "We wanted to deliver something simple for users, easy to set up and administer but capable of addressing very complex processes. We believe this version of rms achieves these three goals. Workflows can be customized so that different requests are routed through different approval processes and to different vendors for fulfillment. Request fulfillers and managers benefit by seeing all requests arrive the same way rather scattered through e-mails, voice mails, meetings and notes dropped on desks. Beyond that, rms integrates three important elements; process control; tracking and reporting." New Features Added Mr. Rosenblatt explained, "We originally built rms to manage our offshore outsourcing work. However, once customers started creating requests, we discovered they liked the rms real-time reporting and tracking capabilities. In response to customer feedback and managing thousands of requests, we added many new features including multiple request definition forms for a project, branching and common workflows within a project and time tracking." The Request Management System has three main parts: An easy-to-use form where customers compose requests and attach supporting files; a workflow engine that moves the request from origination to completion; and an e-mail notification system that alerts all participants in the process that work has arrived for them to do. To avoid maintenance costs, rms uses a Web browser without any software installed on users' computers. All set up and administrative functions use a "point and click" administrative tool avoiding the need to learn API details and scripting languages. Unlike many workflow tools that take weeks or months to implement, rms can be up and running in hours once you know your logical workflow. Release 2.0 of rms is available as a departmental and enterprise product. The Departmental version allows three projects, 9 forms and 25 users. The Departmental version requires Microsoft IIS Microsoft IIS - Internet Information Server 5 or higher and Microsoft Access 2000 or higher.
