IT ONLY TAKES A MINUTE TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

Get a musical dose of motivation

When was the last time you heard a song that made you want to get up and do? As in, do something to improve your situation, or find the energy to keep on striving toward your goals? Maybe you didn't know such music existed, but it does.

Willie Jolley, president and CEO of InspirTainment Plus, a Washington, D.C.-based motivational company, has taken his self-improvement message to the recording studio. The result? It Only Takes a Minute to Change YourLife! Released on his own label, 2WWARM (Winning With a Renewed Mind) Records, the album ($11.98 for a cassette; $15 for a CD)is designed "to help you make it and take it to another level."

A former television commercial jingle singer for Pizza Hut, Black Entertainment Television and Oldsmobile, Jolley combines toe-tapping music with uplifting lyrics: "The race doesn't go to the swift or strong/But to the one who keeps moving on/The one who gets the winner's cup/Is the one who never, never gives up." He performs original songs such as "You Gotta Keep Kickin'" and "The Sky is the Limit," and puts his own stamp on Barbra Streisand's "Somewhere" and the gospel hymn "Blessed Assurance."

It's important to keep in mind that these songs may be different from what you expect to hear on the radio. Nonetheless, if you're looking for a more rousing way to get inspired to stay on course, you might want to consider this musical endeavor.
