The four-level program, targeted at chief information officers and senior IT managers, is a formal, structured curriculum designed to assist them in understanding and implementing the strategic business elements of information technology. Part of the curriculum is built around the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library, www.itil.co.uk) One of the more comprehensive as well as non-proprietary and publicly available sets of guidelines for "best practice" IT services management, owned by the British Office of Government Commerce (OGC). ), a public domain set of best practices for IT service management to promote business effectiveness, developed by the Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency The Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency (CCTA) was a UK government agency providing computer and telecoms support to Government departments.
