IT'S HART'S TURN TO CELEBRATE INDIANS AVENGE LAST SEASON'S UPSET BY VIKINGS HART 17, VALENCIA 14.

Byline: Matthew Kredell Staff Writer

Hart High of Newhall football players spent their lunch period on Friday watching in agony as coaches prepared them for the night's game by replaying Valencia's celebration from the previous year.

The Indians watched in dead silence as Valencia fans stormed Hart's home field. They weren't going to let that happen again.

After a year in exile, Hart is back where it belongs atop the Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. ``We showed we're still the kings of Santa Clarita,'' Wheeler said. ``Last year was just a fluke fluke, parasitic flatworm of the trematoda class, related to the tapeworm. Instead of the cilia, external sense organs, and epidermis of the free-living flatworms, adult flukes have sucking disks with which they cling to their hosts and an external cuticle that .''

around their celebrating players. People filled the Valencia stands beyond their 5,000-seat capacity for what is turning out to be a real rivalry after Hart won the first 10 games of the series before Valencia pulled the upset last year.

Weinstein, a senior who had missed a 36-yard field goal in the third quarter, calmly drilled a career-best 45-yarder with plenty to spare for the second game-winning field goal of his career.

``Paul just has thick skin,'' Hart quarterback Tyler Lyon said. ``You got to, in order to be a kicker Kicker

Wheeler also sparked Hart's tying touchdown drive earlier in the third quarter. With Hart (7-1, 3-0) struggling to move the ball, he broke free for a 35-yard run. He finished with 94 yards on just nine carries.

Lyon, who struggled early in the game, made two big third-down completions to Taylor Embree and finished the drive with a 1-yard quarterback sneak quarterback sneak

to tie the score 14-14. Lyon had 113 passing yards and 42 rushing.

After Weinstein's field goal gave Hart a 17-14 lead, Valencia quarterback Michael Herrick badly overthrew Jason Engelberg on a deep pass and the ball was intercepted by Troy Yudin.
