The race is held annually at Hollywood Park Racetrack, but was not run in 2005 because of a hiatus on grass racing at . Sunday's Matriarch and Hollywood Derby are Grade I's. At Bay Meadows, Russell Baze went winless with three mounts and remained six wins from Laffit Pincay's lifetime-victories record of 9,530. Baze is scheduled to ride seven horses today at the San Mateo track.
