IT'S THAT KIND OF DAY FOR AVC AVC 33, MT. SAN JACINTO 14.

Byline: Sean Ceglinsky Staff Writer

Jamar Day easily moved past the Mt. San Jacinto College San Jacinto College is a community college system in the Greater Houston area in the U.S. state of Texas.

At that point, it was simply a matter of outrunning safety Rodney Connor, which Day easily did as he cruised to a 58-yard touchdown Saturday in Antelope Valley's 33-14 Foothill Conference victory at Marauder MARAUDER. The effort was not a surprise considering the 5-foot-11, 200-pound sophomore has rushed for more than 100 yards in each of his past three games, becoming the first AVC running back in two years to accomplish the feat.

``I'm confident I'm going to get a first down or a touchdown every time I touch the ball,'' said Day, who has team highs in carries (86), yards (649) and touchdowns (seven). ``I just try to run with everything I have. I'm determined to not let anything stop me.''

It helps that Day runs behind a sizable offensive line consisting of Jared Beck (6-5, 345), Steve Pugh (6-3, 340), David Ledesma (6-2, 310,), Josh King (6-0, 315) and Steve Pimental (5-10, 255). And there's also fullback Kasey Young (5-11, 295), who threw several key blocks on both of Day touchdowns runs.

``The line is stepping up and opening the holes. Anybody can run through them,'' Day said. ``With a line like we have, who wouldn't want to run the ball. Together, we play as one.''
