IT'S SIMPLE: WIN, AND GALAXY IS IN.Byline: BILLY WITZ Staff Writer As the final week of the Major League Soccer regular season arrives, the four-team game of musical chairs for the final two playoff spots remains reasonably simple for the Galaxy. Win twice and it's in. After that, there's enough combinations and permutations to crash a hard drive. Here's how the teams stand: Chicago and Kansas City Kansas City, two adjacent cities of the same name, one (1990 pop. 149,767), seat of Wyandotte co., NE Kansas (inc. 1859), the other (1990 pop. 435,146), Clay, Jackson, and Platte counties, NW Mo. (inc. 1850). are at 37 points, Colorado at 35 and the Galaxy is at 33. Here's who they play: the Galaxy against New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of (Thursday) and at Chicago (Sunday); Kansas City at FC Dallas FC Dallas is a professional soccer (football) club based in Frisco, Texas, that participates in Major League Soccer. The club was known as the Dallas Burn from 1996 to 2004. The initials "FC" stand for Football Club. (Saturday); and Colorado vs. Real Salt Lake (Saturday). Chicago's only game is against the Galaxy. Columbus is actually ahead of the Galaxy, with 34points, but is eliminated because it can't win any of the possible tie-breakers. Chicago and Kansas City are in the same position as the Galaxy -- win and they're in. Colorado is the one team that needs help. It must beat Real Salt Lake, then hope Kansas City loses, or have the Galaxy lose or draw with New York and then beat Chicago. Though the Galaxy would be eliminated Thursday with a loss to New York, it could still get in with a tie and a victory over Chicago thanks to holding tie-breakers over Kansas City and Chicago. But for that to happen it would need Kansas City to lose or Colorado to do no better than tie. The Galaxy could also get in with a victory over New York and a draw with Chicago, but it would take a Kansas City loss and Colorado failing to win against Real Salt Lake. Hoping for Beckham: Galaxy coach Frank Yallop Frank Walter Yallop (born April 4, 1964 in Watford, England) is a former English-Canadian footballer, and the current manager of the Los Angeles Galaxy. Although he grew up in Vancouver, Yallop played professional football for nearly 20 years in England and the United said after the Galaxy's win over Toronto on Saturday night that David Beckham "Hopefully, he can get some minutes on Thursday," Yallop said.
