ISSYS & KEM Sign Partnership Contract for ISSYS' Micro Density Meter Products & Develop DMFC Sensors.

YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Integrated Sensing Systems, Inc. (ISSYS ISSYS Integrated Sensing Systems ) in Ypsilanti, Michigan, announced that it has signed a partnership contract for ISSYS' Micro Density Meter products with KEM - Kyoto Electronics Manufacturing Company, of Kyoto, Japan, http://www.kyoto-kem.com/top.html. The ISSYS Micro Density Meter products are based on Micro ElectroMechanical The use of electricity to run moving parts. Disk drives, printers and motors are examples. Electromechanical systems must be designed for the eventual deterioration of moving components that wear over time. The first TVs were electromechanical systems (see video/TV history).  System (MEMS (MicroElectroMechanical Systems) Tiny mechanical devices that are built onto semiconductor chips and are measured in micrometers. Dr. Yoichi Ueda, KEM's President, stated that "We have endeavored, as a specialized manufacturer of analytical instruments over 45 years, to enhance R&D, new applications and diverse post-sale support for customer satisfaction. We are now aware that there exists an increasing demand for more user- friendly, compact and precise devices with less measuring time. MEMS is an indispensable technology that fills this recent need, so it was of prime importance for us to tie up with ISSYS in order to realize our global strategy."

Dr. Nader Najafi, ISSYS' President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. , stated that "It was of paramount importance for us to sign with a strategic partner that has a great reputation, proven track record, international distribution channels, and a great drive for capturing the existing markets and generating new ones. ISSYS is proud to work with a company like KEM and we are looking forward to a very productive collaboration. The combination of ISSYS' technology with KEM's sales, application and distribution expertise in analytical instruments, including density meters, will greatly expand the reach of this new technology world-wide. Already in use by the pharmaceutical, petrochemical and aviation fields, this partnership will open up new applications for fluid testing and sensing using MEMS technology."
