The Isotopes (80-64) enter as the Southern Division champions of the American Conference. The Redbirds (77-57) won the Northern Division of the American Conference.
Albuquerque and Memphis faced each other 16 times during the regular season. The Isotopes won 10 and were 6-2 against the Redbirds at Isotopes Park.
The second game is set for Thursday at 7:05 p.m. at Isotopes Park. The series switches to Memphis on Friday.
