ISOCOR (Nasdaq:ICOR), a leading Internet messaging and directory software developer, Tuesday announced that N-PLEX Connect v1.0, featuring synchronization and connectivity to Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes and other SMTP-accessible messaging systems, is now shipping.

N-PLEX Connect is designed for large corporations that need to integrate multiple directory and messaging environments, or plan to migrate to a single electronic messaging platform. The 1998 market size for directory and messaging products is estimated by Dataquest at $437 million, growing at 30 percent per year.

N-PLEX Connect solves the messaging integration problem by integrating the messaging directories. The product can synchronize the directory information of Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes and almost any SMTP-accessible mail system to and from ISOCOR's Global Directory Server (GDS), allowing access to the white pages information from e-mail clients via LDAP or Web browsers via HTML.

Once this information is in the directory, N-PLEX Connect can then provide consistent Internet addressing across the enterprise, and can keep all messaging directories up to date with user information.

By ensuring that all messaging information is accessible from a standards-based directory server, N-PLEX Connect is an important component in preparing a company's messaging environment for a meta directory solution.

N-PLEX Connect also provides a messaging firewall for protecting the company's internal messaging infrastructure from external security attacks in the form of viruses, unsolicited bulk e-mail (UBE), relay of mail for unknown users or hackers with malicious intentions.

Administrators can prevent certain Internet addresses from connecting to the system. They can also define selected domains and specific users to control, or limit the size of, incoming or outgoing mail. To provide virus protection, optional standard virus protection software can be integrated.

N-PLEX Connect reduces the costs associated with erroneous data in an organization by ensuring that address books and directories are dynamically updated, while also maintaining a corporate white pages service. N-PLEX Connect manages more than just e-mail information, offering an easily extendible set of attributes including telephone number and job title.
