Lost behind the remarkable resurgence of Kevin Brown The name Kevin Brown can refer to several different people, including the following:

Ishii turned in another solid, sometimes spectacular effort Friday night, and the Dodgers again contributed just enough offense to send their pitcher to victory, as they held on to beat the Chicago White Sox The Chicago White Sox are a professional baseball team based in Chicago, Illinois. The White Sox are a member of the Central Division of Major League Baseball's American League. From to the present, the White Sox have played in U.S.  2-1 in front of 35,503 at Dodger Stadium     [ .

Much has been made of Brown's return from surgery, but Ishii's comeback has been no less stellar, considering his 2002 season ended courtesy of a line drive to the head off the bat of Houston's Brian Hunter Brian Hunter may refer to:

Ishii (5-2), like all of the Dodgers starters, has received sporadic offensive support this season, but he has made the most of it. His seven-inning effort against the White Sox, in which he allowed one run on four hits and struck out a season-best nine, marked the 11th time in 12 starts he has allowed three or fewer runs.

Ishii also walked a season-low two batters in his first career start against the White Sox, with the only mark against him being Magglio Ordonez's fielder's-choice groundout in the first inning, which scored Jose Valentin from third base.

After that, Ishii never allowed more than one baserunner in any inning and kept good command of all his pitches as he made the Dodgers' slim lead stand up. Eric Gagne pitched a perfect ninth inning for his 21st save.

The Dodgers totaled just four hits but made them count. Brian Jordan

Mark Buehrle (2-9), who lasted six innings and allowed two runs on four hits, walked none and struck out six.

The winning run came in the third inning, during which the Dodgers nearly ran themselves out of something good. Cesar Izturis led off the inning with an infield single and advanced to second on a poor throw by catcher Miguel Olivo.

A bunt by Ishii advanced Izturis to third, but when Dave Roberts chopped a ball back to the mound, Izturis charged home and was easily thrown out. Roberts, ever alert on the basepaths, ran to second, and Paul Lo Duca Paul Anthony Lo Duca (born April 12, 1972 in Brooklyn, New York) is a catcher in Major League Baseball who plays for the New York Mets. Previously, Lo Duca played for the Los Angeles Dodgers (1998-2004) and Florida Marlins (2004-2005).  singled sharply to center to score Roberts.

Lo Duca had also singled in the first inning to extend his hitting streak to 15 games.

Buehrle, a one-time potential ace who has struggled mightily this season, settled down after Lo Duca's single and retired the last 10 Dodgers he faced. Buehrle left in the top of the seventh for a pinch hitter, and the Dodgers missed a great chance to expand their lead in the bottom half.

With reliever Tom Gordon on the mound and one out, Fred McGriff walked, Jolbert Cabrera singled to left-center and Adrian Beltre walked to load the bases, but Izturis popped up to short left field and pinch hitter Alex Cora hit a meek grounder to third base on a 2-2 count to end the inning.

That also ended the night for Ishii, who threw 110 pitches, a good total considering he threw 28 in the first inning.
