ISG enters into agreement with Computer Associates.

BURLINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 26, 1997-- International Software Group (ISG) (NASDAQ NMS:SISGF) today announced an agreement with Computer Associates International, Inc., (NYSE:CA) to license ISG Navigator, the leading OLE DB universal data access middleware. ISG Navigator enables the implementation of next generation OLE DB database technology with applications for the Web, the Internet, Intranets and client/server systems.

OLE DB is the successor to the ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) programming interface standard. It simplifies Intranet and Internet development and capitalizes on Microsoft's integration of its languages and tools with ADO (Active Data Objects), including ADO-J for Java development.

By supporting Microsoft's OLE DB interfaces, ISG Navigator provides a visual paradigm for programmers to build Intranet solutions that can access and update transactions from any location through any modern Internet browser. The product accesses both local and remote data on different platforms and across networks. In addition to relational databases, ISG Navigator accesses data sources such as hierarchical databases, spreadsheets, object databases, mail folders, and indexed sequential files.
