ISCC Annual Meeting and CORM Technical Meeting to be held in conjunction at NIST site on May 10-11, 2004.

), Reston, VA, will host their 2004 ISCC Annual Meeting and Symposium on May 10-11 at the National Institute of Standards and Technology's (NIST (National Institute of Standards & Technology, Washington, DC, www.nist.gov) The standards-defining agency of the U.S. government, formerly the National Bureau of Standards. It is one of three agencies that fall under the Technology Administration (www.technology. ) Gaithersburg, MD conference site. The events will be held in conjunction with the 2004 Council for Optical Radiation Measurements (CORM) meeting, "Advances in Color and Appearance Metrology," on May 12-14 at the same venue.

ISCC interest group meetings are scheduled for May 10-11 with a poster session A poster session is the juried presentation of research information by representatives of several research teams at a congress or conference with an academic or professional focus. These are particularly prominent at scientific conferences such as medical congresses.  in conjunction with CORM on the afternoon of May 11. ISCC project committees will meet on May 12, while CORM will hold technical meetings on May 13 and the morning of May 14. NIST will conduct laboratory tours during the afternoon of May 14.

ISCC has scheduled three interest group meetings. Presentations will address the areas of basic and applied color research; industrial application of color not of the white race; - commonly meaning, esp. in the United States, of negro blood, pure or mixed.

Under the theme "The Role of Standards in Color," additional papers will present research in all aspects of color, including new instruments, new research applications of existing instruments, and optical models.

Interest Group II: Industrial Applications of Color will present technical challenges and solutions encountered in commercial color applications. Papers on the topics of color reproduction, color management, quality control techniques and color tolerancing, measurement techniques, color matching, the relationship between color and other physical characteristics, or other color related industrial applications will be presented.

Interest Group III In the periodic table Group III covered what are now called
  • Group 13 elements: boron (B), aluminium (Al), gallium (Ga), indium (In), thallium (Tl)
  • Group 3 elements: scandium (Sc) and yttrium (Y) plus the Lanthanide and Actinide series elements.

Additional papers on the subject of color standards implementation to improve color communication in all facets of design, production, marketing, and sales will be presented.
