IS&S Flat Panel Display Cleared for Takeoff in Pilatus PC-12; Innovative Solutions & Support Granted STC and Begins Shipments for Its Innovative Glass Cockpit; First Retrofitted Aircraft Already in Flight.

EXTON, Pa. -- Owners of the popular Pilatus PC-12 aircraft are set to soar with one of aviation's most advanced glass cockpits: the Cockpit/IP(TM) Flat Panel Display System from Innovative Solutions & Support Inc. (NASDAQ:ISSC). IS&S announced the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for its flat-panel primary flight/navigation display system in the Pilatus PC-12, and the company has initiated shipments of the hardware to its authorized distributors/installers for Pilatus PC-12 cockpit upgrades.

Installation of IS&S's state-of-the-art flat panel displays are now available for the PC-12 by IS&S partners Western Aircraft and Epps Aviation, who specialize in Pilatus aircraft avionics modifications and maintenance, significantly improving flight safety and security; streamlining vital in-flight information; and giving PC-12 pilots, passengers, and owners 'Part 25' performance capabilities once restricted to commercial airliners, at less than 'Part 23' costs. Installation was completed for the first PC-12 aircraft retrofitted with the Cockpit/IP(TM) Flat Panel Display System from IS&S, and the aircraft took flight in mid-May.

Indeed, the IS&S design approach minimizes the cost and downtime required for retrofits, helping restore aircrafts to revenue-generating service in days--not weeks or months.

Simply put, with IS&S, PC-12 owners get all the essential instrumentation required by the FAA, such as TCAS, TAWS, and RVSM, as well as digital flat-panel representations of Primary Flight Display (PFD) components--attitude direction indicator (ADI), horizontal situation indicator (HSI), altimeter, airspeed indicator, vertical speed indicator, and radio magnetic indicator. IS&S flat panel displays also accept and present all typical navigation sources, including DME, ADF, VOR, GPS, and FMS.

In addition, IS&S's proprietary glass cockpit operating system is powered by redundant dual-processors that continuously ensure system reliability and the integrity of data presented to the pilot. The IS&S patented Integrity Checking Processor makes certain all critical functions are validated to standards required for Part 25 aircraft, and immediately notifies the pilot of any inconsistencies, further increasing the PC-12's security and safety.

Pilatus owners can upgrade their glass cockpit displays well beyond the basics. Highly desirable features include:
