Dr. Jean Louis Lefebvre, a global leader in the field of Head and Neck Cancer, is the Head of the Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Centre Oscar Lambret, Lille, France. In 1976, he joined the Centre Oscar Lambret, the Northern France Comprehensive Cancer Center, and became Chief of the Department in 1994. He served as Deputy Director of the Center (1996-2001) and was elected President of its Medical Commission (2003-2006).

In addition to Dr. Lefebvre's work at Centre Oscar Lambret, he chaired the EORTC EORTC European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer  HNC (HNC Software Inc., San Diego, CA) A software company that specialized in products that detect credit card fraud, manage merchant risk, automate lending decisions and home valuations and manage retail inventories. Founded in 1986 by Robert Hecht-Nielsen and Todd W.  Group (1989-1998) and was a member of the EORTC Board (1997-1999). He has been appointed as the Secretary General (2003-2006) and Director (2006- ) of the International Federation of Head and Neck Oncology Societies, President of the Founding Board of the European Head and Neck Society (2003- ) and Vice President of the International Academy of Oral Oncology (2005- ). He is a member of twenty-three Head and Neck societies and is involved in twenty-four scientific journals either as a member of the editorial board or as a reviewer. In 1995, Dr. Lefebvre received the Special Recognition Award of the Society of Head and Neck Surgeons.
