) appointed new members to the Advisory Committee on Tax Exempt and Government Entities (ACT). The committee consists of "stakeholders in the specialized areas of tax-exempt organizations, employee retirement plans, tax-exempt bonds and federal, state, local and Indian tribal governments," according to the IRS An abbreviation for the Internal Revenue Service, a federal agency charged with the responsibility of administering and enforcing internal revenue laws. .

ACT provides the IRS with input on the development and implementation of policy in the areas of employee plans, exempt organizations, tax-exempt bonds and federal, state, local and Indian tribal government issues.

The two appointments for the exempt organizations are:

* Betsy Buchalter Adler of San Francisco. She is a member of Silk, Adler and Colvin, a law firm, which specializes, in nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations. Adler "provides advice and counsel to grant-making charities, operating charities, education and religious institutions, trade associations, and individual and corporate philanthropists," according to the IRS.
