IREM joins to establish minority mentor program.

The Institute of Real Estate Management Greater New York Chapter No. 26 has announced a joint venture with McCoy/PM Realty Group, the nation's largest minority owned property management and leasing company, to establish the IREM Minority Mentor Program.

The initial goal of the program is to provide educational opportunities for minority Certified Property Manager (CPM) Candidates who work for McCoy/PM Realty Group. A scholarship program will be established to provide financial assistance for CPM Candidates taking the 300 and 400 level IREM courses.

In addition, IREM Chapter No. 26 will work with other IREM chapters in states where McCoy/PM Realty Group has offices, which includes Texas, Florida and New Jersey.

McCoy/PM Realty Group is a newly formed full service fee management real estate company established. The company complements PM Realty Group's existing services and expands opportunities for minorities. Founded nearly four decades ago, PM Realty Group is actively involved in the management, leasing, maintenance, consulting and construction supervision of a portfolio of more than $5 billion in properties nationwide.

IREM is a national real estate organization dedicated to promoting high standards of education, experience and conduct for property management. The Greater New York Chapter No. 26 of the Institute of Real Estate Management includes members from New York City, Westchester County and parts of northern New Jersey and Long Island.

McCoy will be among the featured speakers at the Sept. 9 Monthly Luncheon meeting.

The Sept. 9 luncheon will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will be held at the New York Helmsley Hotel, 212 East 42nd Street, Manhattan.
