The Greater NY Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management recently announced its winter 2003 Education Series. Offering a wide range of basic to advanced courses, IREM's highly regarded instructional series offers something for everyone in real estate management. Courses offered this winter include Introduction to Real Estate Management, which will meet on Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. beginning on Feb. 6 and ending on April 24 at NYU's Midtown Center. A must for all entry-level property managers, this course offers a broad view of real estate including residential, commercial and retail management. Introduction to Commercial Property Management will meet on Monday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. beginning Feb. 10 and ending April 28 at NYU's Midtown Center. Learn methods for maximizing profits and avoiding pitfalls associated with managing commercial properties. This course offers value-boosting techniques designed for the property manager who wants to learn the challenges and rewards of commercial property management. Learn to meet the specific needs of owners and tenants of office buildings, retail, and industrial sites. Understanding Financial Calculations and Strategies for Real Estate Managers is a two-day course that will be offered on Wednesday and Thursday April 2 and 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The course location will be announced at a later date. Develop solid strategies for evaluating and selecting financial alternatives to retain and enhance a property's value, no matter what type of real estate you manage. The cost is $440 for IREM members; $555 for non-members, which includes a registration and textbook fee.
