IREM aiming to strike a balance with new course.

The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) has released an introductory level online course titled "Introduction to Real Estate Management" (IREM01). Striking a balance between industry overview, "gold standard" knowledge for managing property, the skills for successful real estate careers, and trends for future markets, IREM01 makes IREM education available to general audiences. It is an excellent resource for training new industry hires and entry-level staff as well as those interested in learning more about the opportunities real estate management offers.

The course is self guided and is estimated to take approximately seven hours to complete. It features open enrollment, so individuals can begin their studies at any time. Moreover, they have the flexibility to complete their coursework at their convenience. Those who complete "Introduction to Real Estate Management" will:

* Obtain a comprehensive overview of the real estate management industry, including the history of real property, property types and owners' goals and objectives

* Learn the primary responsibilities of real estate managers including maintenance, human resources, financial management, marketing, and legal and risk management

* Gain knowledge of what it takes to succeed as a real estate manager, potential career paths, and the types of organizations that employ real estate managers
