 - set up in 1987 to replace the State Enterprise for Iraqi Oil Tankers) had 17 tankers with a total capacity of 1,493,000 dwt. Of these, seven had capacities of around 35,000 dwt each and the other 10 were between 118,000 and 155,000 dwt. After the UN embargo embargo (ĕmbär`gō), prohibition by a country of the departure of ships or certain types of goods from its ports.
