IPNet and Centra Software Join Forces to Bring eLearning

to Supply Chain Applications

IPNet Solutions Inc., a leading eBusiness software developer creating products that seamlessly link companies, their trading partners and e-marketplaces in Virtual Trading Communities, today announced IPNet Virtual University, an innovative Web-based training program for customers, business partners and employees.

IPNet Virtual University uses multimedia and real-time Internet instruction to keep its employees and customers up-to-date on new technology and product functionality. IPNet is the only vendor in its market to offer live interactive and self-paced online learning, or "eLearning," leveraging the company's skilled staff of business-to-business technology educators. eLearning shortens training curves and maximizes the value of IPNet's eBizness(TM) Suite, an integrated software suite designed to automate the flow of critical information throughout the supply chain for high-tech, retail and manufacturing markets.

"IPNet's Virtual University provides a significant advantage for collaborative meetings, product instruction, and employee training," said Eileen Licerio, director of education, IPNet Solutions Inc. "With barriers such as personal schedules, geography, time zones and professional demands, IPNet's Virtual University is the ideal `Internet time' solution for educating customers, partners and employees. We can train an entire supply chain in a matter of days -- providing outstanding support to our customers' goal of 100 percent trading partner participation in Virtual Trading Communities."

The IPNet Virtual University curriculum currently includes an Executive Overview program, providing high-level information about IPNet and its products, and a System Administration program, designed to educate software system administrators and managers. The Implementation program is ideal for business partners, and extensive employee training programs. All programs are accessible over the Web in a live, interactive training experience or through a self-paced class providing flexibility for large audiences or individual training.

"Keeping employees current on technology and product enhancements is a challenge for every company. At IPNet, new employees begin learning immediately with a New Hire Orientation class and then on to product training. The sales team can quickly learn about the product and even practice giving presentations prior to attending more formal sales training," said Licerio. "We're able to reduce the amount of time required for a new employee to become productive, and that adds to the bottom line."
