IPC-Hospitalist gets funding. (The Digest).

 Co. has secured $15.5 million in a fourth round of venture capital funding that will be used to further fuel the company's continued growth.

BA Venture Partners led the round and was joined by Morgenthaler Morgenthaler and Morgentaler are surnames, and may refer to the following:
  • Goldie Morgentaler, Yiddish author
  • Dr. Henry Morgentaler, Canadian gynecologist and abortion activist
  • Morgentaler v.
 Venture Partners, CB Health Ventures and Bessemer Venture Partners Bessemer Venture Partners is a private venture capital firm with offices in Silicon Valley, New York, Massachusetts, China, and India. It has backed such companies as Ciena, Flarion, Parametric Technologies, Skype, Staples, VeriSign and Veritas. . All four companies participated in IPC's $9.25 million third round of funding in 2001 and its $12.5 million second round of funding in 1999. Morgenthaler and Bessemer were also participants in Series A funding in 1998.

IPC (1) (InterProcess Communication) The exchange of data between one program and another either within the same computer or over a network. It implies a protocol that guarantees a response to a request.  is comprised of nine regional practices totaling more than 300 physicians in Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Fort Worth, Oakland, Phoenix, St. Louis and Tucson.

The new capital will also be used for physician recruitment and the potential acquisition of other hospitalist groups.
